Breaking the Silence

We’ve had a killer 2014, and after an action-packed first half, we’ve been hunkered down in the lab, cooking up some new low heavy grooves for your listening pleasure. We’re hitting Hudson Street Sound this month, laying down some new tracks with our main man Frank Marchand. We’ll be dropping some new product later this year. Catch us at an upcoming show for a preview of what’s coming.

Speaking of which, the first of our fall shows are coming next month. We’ll be out September 26 and 27 with our buds Kingsnake and Wasted Theory in York, PA and Wilmington, DE. Catch us if you can! We’ll be announcing more shows for the rest of the year soon.

Oculus is out, tour starts today

It’s a damn good day here at Casa Borracho. We’ve just unleashed our new beast on the world, and we’re about to hit the road with one of our favorite current bands, Lo-Pan for a run of shows that includes our own Oculus release show at Rock and Roll Hotel in DC, and culminates with an appearance at the Eye of the Stoned Goat fest in New York City.

Go listen to Oculus yourself, and if you dig it, lay down a paltry 5 bucks to own it! If you’re anywhere on our tour route, come to a show and see us at the merch table to get a FREE download card. Every show is a two-fer! See you on the road, friends!

The Eye of the Storm – Oculus arrives July 18

Next week we’ll unleash our latest collection of new music, Oculus, for digital download. It’s currently streaming exclusively on Heavy Planet and will be available for download from major online retailers and our Bandcamp page on July 18. It will see a limited edition 12” vinyl release in the fall courtesy of our long-time label co-conspirators No Balls Records (Germany) and Strange Magic Records(US).

Gaze into the eye

The recording marks Steve’s arrival as the band’s new lead vocalist after Noah moved abroad last year. We’ve been performing live as a trio since last July, and those of you who have caught us live already have a sense of what to expect. Steve brings new character and significant pipes of his own to the new record, and the approach is unchanged: a clear emphasis on riffs and rhythms, a barrel full of hooks, and an epic sensibility that gives lots of room for the rhythm section to breath while the guitars wail.

The tracklist is:

Side A:
Empty                            7:30
Know the Score             7:18

Side B:
Stockpile                      10:47
Eye                                2:03
I’ve Come for it All         8:15

We’ll be celebrating the digital release on July 19 at Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington DC with our good friends Weed is Weed and Kingsnake, and Columbus Ohio’s pride, Lo-Pan, who we’ll be on the road with en route to the Eye of the Stoned Goat 3 festival in Brooklyn, NY. The DC show is presented by Heavy Planet and Port City Brewing Company. Check out all our summer tour dates on our shows page.
