The video—self-produced by the band, directed by longtime friend Dicky Southcott, filmed in a day by a small crew, and edited by Kevin Bradley—frames our live show energy and punctuates it with vintage clips of destruction, atrocity and mayhem.

But we weren’t happy with just ONE video—oh no. We’ve also released an alternate cut that includes Splitting Sky intro track “Redemption” leading into the featured song, recreating the opening one-two punch of one of 2011’s stoner rock surprise albums.

The months keep flying off the 2012 calendar, and we haven’t even taken a few minutes to recognize (or pat ourselves on the back for) the successes we achieved in 2011. But before we dive into all of that, we need to thank YOU our fans, for all of the support you’ve shown. Without you, there is no Borracho. Cheers!

The positive reviews for the record started early and came often, and we were repeatedly humbled by the kind words. But we were completely overwhelmed when Splitting Sky was named to TEN 2011 best-of-year lists. Seven of those selections were top-ten nods, and three were in the top-five! Many thanks to the blogs and zines that thought so highly of our debut, including The Soda Shop, Heavy Planet (and here, and here), The Sludgelord, The Ripple Effect, and Captain Beyond Zen, who all really supported the record and got it in front of the audience it was meant for. The end of the year also delivered Splitting Sky’s highest-profile review, coming from none other than our hometown’s The Washington Post, who gushed “Borracho has mastered the delivery of an infectious hook. “Splitting Sky” is bursting with catchy riffs and skilled playing.” Fuck yeah!

The boys of your Borracho are blasting into the new year with just-announced dates in January and February.

Join us January 20 at DC’s Black Cat as we provide sonic support for the 15 speaker cabinet, 7,000 watt juggernaut duo that is Jucifer.

Then, the very next night, truck out to the infamous Jaxx Nightclub as we help celebrate the release of Dismal Hollow — the sophomore release from our boys in King Giant. A loud, southern-fried, stoned rumbler, this record is just fantastic and we’re looking forward to help bring it upon the masses with ample additional support from fellow horn-throwing troubadours The Crimson Electric. And as a special nod to the kids, this show is all ages.

In February, Borracho brings it straight to the heart of the keystone beast with our first show in Pennsylvania! All you central Pa. bitches head over to The Depot in York on the 10th for a serious, slow rocking with Thunder Fist, Kingsnake & Witch Hazel. Boom!
